Ei Compendex, produced by Engineering Information Inc. (Ei) is the most comprehensive interdisciplinary engineering information database in the world, with over 3 million summaries of journal articles and conference proceedings, and 220,000 new additions every year.
INSPEC.
INSPEC is produced by the Institution of Electrical Engineers. It is regarded as the premier database for access to the world’s leading scientific and technical literature in physics, electrical engineering, electronics, communications, control engineering, computing and information technology. INSPEC via EDINA covers the years 1969 onwards. The database contains over 5 million records, each one referring to a published journal article, conference paper or other document. INSPEC via EDINA is updated weekly.

esp@cenet patent information service at the United Kingdom Patent Office. The esp@cenet system is a collection of interlinked Web Sites enabling users to search for information that can be found on the front pages of patent documents published around the world.
Scirus
a powerful new search engine developed by Elsevier Science for locating scientific information only, may provide the answer. Scirus delivers more relevant search results because it focuses on scientific information, indexes complete documents, searches the whole web including access-controlled sites, and reads non-text files like PDF. At this stage Scirus covers more than 60 million science related pages from the Web as well as membership sources such as ScienceDirect, MEDLINE on BioMedNet, Beilstein on ChemWeb and Neuroscion. This is only the beginning – Scirus aims to include more databases in the near future.
